40 Hadith on Noble Character (Akhlaq)
Authentic sayings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on honesty, gentleness, speech control, modesty, and good manners.
1. The Purpose of Prophethood
إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ لأُتَمِّمَ صَالِحَ الأَخْلاَقِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I was sent only to perfect noble character.'
2. The Heaviest Thing on the Scale
مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ مِنْ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Nothing is placed on the Scale that is heavier than good character.'
3. Truthfulness Leads to Righteousness
عَلَيْكُمْ بِالصِّدْقِ فَإِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ...
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Hold fast to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise...'
4. Guarding the Tongue & Private Parts
مَنْ يَضْمَنْ لِي مَا بَيْنَ لَحْيَيْهِ وَمَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ أَضْمَنْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever guarantees for me what is between his jaws (tongue) and what is between his legs (chastity), I guarantee for him Paradise.'
5. Gentle Kindness in All Affairs
إِنَّ الرِّفْقَ لاَ يَكُونُ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ زَانَهُ وَلاَ يُنْزَعُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ شَانَهُ
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Gentleness is not found in anything except that it beautifies it, and it is not removed from anything except that it disgraces it.'
