Guest use (no account)
Prayer times and Qibla are calculated in your browser from coordinates you provide or that your device shares with the page. Those calculations do not require an EasyIslam account. City search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Maps and nearby mosques use public OSM/Overpass APIs. Quran audio may be fetched from third-party CDNs (for example everyayah.com or islamic.network) when you press play.
If you create an account
We store your email, a hashed password (or Google account id), display name, and the preferences you save. Preferences may include a saved location (latitude/longitude and a label) if you choose to sync it. We also store bookmarks, prayer logs, journal entries, and similar account data you create. Email marketing is off unless you opt in.
Processors we use
• Sentry — crash and error reports when the app fails • Stripe — if you start a paid subscription • Anthropic — if you use the AI assistant; your prompt is sent to them to generate a reply • Resend — transactional email (verification, password reset) • PostgreSQL on our host — account data We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising networks.
AI assistant
The assistant is an educational tool, not a mufti. Messages go to Anthropic. We do not treat regex matches of “Bukhari” as verified citations; only references found in our local libraries are marked confirmed.
Cookies
Signed-in sessions use an HTTP-only cookie (ei_token) holding a JWT (30-day expiry). We do not use advertising cookies. Crash reporting may set its own first-party diagnostics cookies.
