40 Hadith Qudsi (Sacred Traditions)
Authentic sayings where the Prophet ﷺ relates the direct words of Allah (Exalted is He) outside the Quran.
1. Allah's Mercy Precedes His Anger
Divine Mercyإِنَّ رَحْمَتِي غَلَبَتْ غَضَبِي
Allah Almighty says: 'Indeed, My mercy prevails over My anger.'
2. I Am as My Servant Thinks of Me
Hope & Remembranceأَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ إِذَا ذَكَرَنِي، فَإِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي نَفْسِهِ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي نَفْسِي...
Allah Almighty says: 'I am as My servant expects Me to be, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than theirs. If he draws near to Me a hand’s length, I draw near to him an arm’s length...'
3. Prohibition of Injustice (Adh-Dhulm)
Justice & Absolute Dependencyيَا عِبَادِي إِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ الظُّلْمَ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَجَعَلْتُهُ بَيْنَكُمْ مُحَرَّمًا فَلاَ تَظَالَمُوا...
Allah Almighty says: 'O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself, and I have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are astray except those I have guided, so seek guidance from Me and I will guide you...'
4. Enmity Against a Wali (Friend of Allah)
Divine Love & Sanctity of Believersمَنْ عَادَى لِي وَلِيًّا فَقَدْ آذَنْتُهُ بِالْحَرْبِ، وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي بِشَيْءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا افْتَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِ...
Allah Almighty says: 'Whoever shows enmity to a friend (Wali) of Mine, I declare war against him. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the duties I have obligated upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary works until I love him...'

Allah Almighty says: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you...'
